From my earliest days, draped across the rigid societal norms of my home city Istanbul, I found that my propensity towards the unconventional took a swift pivot. Exhibitionism, to me, was never just a simple fetish, but rather, an expressive art form. I spread myself onto the tapestry of my designs, each stitch and hem a statement of the audaciousness breathed into my existence.
Society might tell us to hide our desires, tuck them behind a facade of normality. But my craft? It tore away the curtain of pretense and laid everything bare. I spoke in the language of leather and lace, latex and chains. I found that there was a premium vibe of power in submission, a paradox that seemed counter-intuitive to some, but not to those who dared to dive beneath the surface. To submit, to allow someone else to take the reins—it was not weakness. Quite the contrary, it was strength, it was bravery, it was freedom. Each design I created was marked by this understanding, bearing an emphasis on exhibition, on the thrill of revealing, of uncovering, of unmasking. Each piece was a reflection of the wearer's innermost desires, a salute to their courage in daring to stray from the beaten path, from the monochrome mundanity.
In a society obsessed with labels and boxes, I found solace in the grey areas, the in-betweens. I found my voice in the lack of labels, because I was not just a person, a designer or an exhibitionist - I was all and none. I was the spectrum, the anomaly, the norm. And through my designs, I wanted people to understand that it's okay to accept these shades of greys. To not shy away, but come forth, make a statement, and let the world see who they really are. There's a bravery in that, a raw, unfiltered courage. And in my designs, I found my own submission, my own exhibition.
